Shalimar Garden, Kashmir, India


The Shalimar Bagh is the celebrated royal garden of Kashmir. Shalimar Gardens, situated 15 km from the center of Srinagar is one of the most popular Mughal Gardens at Srinagar, Kashmir. The word Shalimar means 'Abode of Love'. Shalimar Garden was built by the Mughal King Jahangir for his wife, Nur Jahan in 1619.




Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania, U.S.


The 1077 acres Longwood gardens located in Pennsylvania of U.S displays 40 magnificent gardens and 4.5 acres of greenhouses. This enormous garden is home to 11000 different types of plants and trees. The 86 acre meadow garden is the most beautiful attraction in the Longwood gardens.

Kew Gardens is a botanical garden in Southwest London. It houses one of the most ‘largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collections in the world’. It was founded in 1840. Its living collections include more than 30,000 different kinds of plants. The herbarium (a systematically arranged collection of dried plants) at the Kew Gardens is one of the largest in the world and has over 70 lakh preserved plant specimens. Further we can visit the library containing more than 750,000 volumes, and the illustrations collection containing more than 1,75,000 prints and drawings of plants. Kew Gardens is one of London's top tourist attractions. Also, is a World Heritage Site.



Giardini Botanici Villa Taranto, Italy

The Giardini Botanici Villa Taranto (16 hectares) are botanical gardens located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore in Pallanza, Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Italy. The gardens contain nearly 20,000 plant varieties, representing more than 3,000 species. The gardens are set among 7 km of paths. They have a very wide collection of plants and flowers, e.g. azalea, cornus, greenhouses of Victoria amazonica, and 300 types of dahlias. Further, big flowers like Emery Paul, which its size exceed 25 centimeters of diameter, the Pompons with globe-shaped flower heads similar to a bees’ nest and do not even reach 5 mm of diameter and many more attract the tourist from all over the world. 


Butchart Gardens, British Columbia, Canada 

The Butchart Gardens is a group of floral display gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada. The gardens receive close to a million visitors each year. The gardens have been designated a National Historic Site of Canada. It is spread across 22 hectares of area and it has 700 varieties of plants. Various famous flower varieties at the gardens are Camellia, Malus (Crabapple), Magnolia, Prunus (Ornamental Cherry), Tuberous Begonia, Meconopsis (Blue Poppy), Acer (Japanese Maple), Dahlia, Galanthus (Snowdrop), etc.

The Butchart garden is also home to thousands of butterflies, parrots, peacocks and other birds. The star pond in the garden also protects a number of ducks. There are also musical nights, light shows and firework displays in the Butchart gardens.

Gardens of Versailles, France


This magnificent garden across 800 hectares of land is an outstanding example of formal French garden design. The Gardens of Versailles receive more than six million visitors a year. It contain 300 hectares of forest and hundreds of acres of flower beds. Moreover it has 50 fountains, 620 water jets (fed by 35 km. piping), 5.57 km Grand Canal. It is home to 2,00,000 tress and more than 2,10,000 flowering plants. In 1979, the gardens were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 



Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix, Arizona, US

The Desert Botanical Garden was founded by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society in 1937. The desert botanical garden in Phoenix city of Arizona displays a large collection of beautiful arid-land plants. It focuses on plants adapted to desert conditions. The garden has more than 21,000 plants, one-third of which are native to the area, including 139 species which are rare, threatened or endangered. It is also home to 1350 different types of cactus plant. Plants from less extreme climate conditions are protected under shade-houses. You can also see lots of fountains and benches in the garden.



Keukenhof, Lisse, Netherlands


Keukenhof ("Kitchen garden") is situated in Lisse, Netherlands. It is also known as the Garden of Europe, and is one of the world's largest flower gardens. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres). 

Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. Now, it is scheduled to be open from 22 March to 13 May 2018. The Flower Parade will be held on Saturday, 21 April 2018. In 2017 a record 1.4 million visitors entered the Keukenhof gardens.
